At St Swithun's we really enjoyed the first
lesson which was making yourself out of paper. This let us show our personality
and Mrs Ross (our teacher) enabled us to have more freedom to make it our own.
We really appreciated the older students from St Swithun's who were there to
help us throughout the lessons.
In the next lesson we started by sketching a
picture of an important building in Winchester including the library, the cathedral and many
more. After we had done a rough sketch of the building we were using, we
collaged some of the main parts. This included windows and pillars using tissue
paper and sugar paper.
The next lesson was about John Piper but first
we added to our sketches by going over them in black pen first. Then we looked
at the style of John Piper and found out that he drew buildings during the time
of the War and identified the colours that were often merged to make sad
colours. This enabled us to use the same colour scheme to improve our picture
and they turned out to look very similar to his amazing art.
The
last lesson started by watching Miss Ross giving an example of sketching a
skyscraper and making it your own. The class enjoyed this lesson but were sad
that it was the last.
