Year 2 - Fairytale Day

In Year 2 we have been learning about Fairy Tales. We spent time listening to fairy tales and creating our own characters and plots for our very own tales.

To end our topic we had a Fairy Tale dress up day.  Can you guess which characters we are?

Year 5 - Maps

In Year 5 we have been looking at maps as part of our Geography and topic learning this half term.
We looked at the common features of Ordinance Survey maps including why symbols are used and how to use a key. We also enjoyed learning how to read a four figure grid reference.
As part of our programme of Outdoor Learning we went outside to create our own maps of Great Britain using outdoor equipment to show features and symbols. We even thought of a creative way to show the Isle of Wight- can you find it?

Year 3 - Forces and Magnets

In year 3 this half term we have been learning about Forces and Magnets.

This week we have created our own magnetic games. Some of us made magnetic mazes, where you put the magnet under the table to get the person through to the end. Some of us made racing games to see who could get their paperclip car to the finish line the fastest! Lots of us made fishing games which had a magnetic fishing line to pick up paperclip fish!

We had a lot of fun designing, creating and playing these games.
