Fireworks Display

Towards the end of last year FOBS organised a fantastic fireworks display. We had assistance from the local parish council, and many local shops and organisations were kind enough to help out by sponsoring the event. We made the event open to the whole community as well as the school.

It took a great deal of preparation, planning, and flyer dropping, but the event on the evening was brilliant and couldn't have gone better. We were very fortunate with the weather, and it was mild with no rain. There was a brilliant turn out of children and parents from the school, teachers, and lots of local families. The grounds at the school were packed - the turn out was better than we could have hoped for. FOBS organised selling drinks (which we sold out of - there were so many people!) and glow wands, which were a great success with the children. An outside company came in to do the food, so we had a brilliant selection of bonfire night hot dogs, burgers, chips and other items. The catering company also came along with some excellent fair ground rides, which
were hugely popular.

I think everyone would agree that it was a fantastic evening, and we raised lots of money for FOBS to spend on improvements around the school to benefit the children.

Everyone is looking forward to the next fireworks night, which I'm sure will be as spectacular as this one was.

Issue of the Month: New Website

We are developing a new website with the help of Dr Gardner and an ICT specialist, but we want to make sure that our website reflects all our views, especially yours’, as we want this to be a website that you can use frequently.

The new website can be found at: www.oliversbatteryprimary.com

Please take some time to have a look at the webpages together in your class and answer the following questions.

  1. What information do you think people might want to see on our school website?
  2. What do you like about the front page?
  3. What do you think is good about the rest of the website?
  4. What do you think should be different or improved?
Thank you.
